I looked at a lot of jacks online.
This OTC advertised a minimum height of 3.5 inches.
It WILL fit under the frame rails of my 2018 Breakout while its on the jiffy stand.
It's a breeze to lift the bike and lower it using the foot pedals.
With the bike at max height it seems sturdy enough, but I didn't hop up on the bike like shown in the J&S Youtube vids
There were 4 ratcheting tie downs included and 4 loops on the jack to secure them to.
With the bike off the ground it rolls smoothly.
All 3 drain plugs were accessible when on the jack.
As others have noted, theres no assembly instructions.
But as you're buying this jack to work on your bike, your probably smart enough to put it together.
I'm glad I chose this OTC.
I had a hard time thinking about lifting a $15,000 bike over a foot using a $100 jack
Hope this helps and saves potential buyers some time searching.
His video was very informative so based on that I ordered mine. Came complete with everything, easy to put together and operate
Pay a little more and get an awesome jack !!
I don’t think much more than this one..
Otherwise, fantastic lift!!!
For you. Low and Lowered, Harley guys and gals. This jack collapses to a height of only 3.5 in. All the other jacks I researched were high @ 4.7 in.
This is the jack you want Guys and Gals.
Thank you OTC, for still having pride in your QC.
seeking a stable platform to work on your bikes, especially the heavy ones. excellent wheel brakes and
floor contact locking screws keep it firmly in place while working on, washing etc. Thank you very much, Mark
It is heavy, and I was lucky enough to be home when UPS delivered, as it took both of us to safely unload it from the truck.
The package arrived in excellent shape. It’s pretty heavy and large so a two person job is best. All the parts were included and fit well. No issues there. (Oh, and I got it PDQ - ordered on Monday, promised on Saturday, got it on Friday! No complaints!)
I’ve had my Scout up on the lift a few times already (washing, fluid check, etc...) and she sits sturdy on it. I’ve even gotten on the bike and started her up while on the lift. Rock steady! I’ve moved her around after lifted, and all seems stable and works as designed.
I had been all set to get a J&S lift. They’re pricey but have an excellent reputation. But with the Covid and shut downs, J&S was out of the picture. For about one-third the price, this lift is a godsend. Sturdy, it fits, works as described... now, if it will only last!
I received the boxed lift and struggled to get it inside the house.... it's very heavy!
I assembled this inside the house, as it was about 95° outside, but I digress.
The assembly was simple; install the jack and foot lever (3 bolts total) then the support bar (cotter pins)
and finally the support for the handle (2 more bolts). I'm confused by those who stated that the directions
left a lot to be desired, as I never even glanced at them. (And, aren't you purchasing this lift so that you can
work on your motorcycle??) You should be pretty handy to begin with.... anyway.
This thing is sturdy as Hell, and I really like the long pads where the bike is supported. (Approx. 6" longer than my HF lift.)
It rolls easily across the garage floor, which mine is a bit rough, and sits very low, giving me a lot of ground clearance to get
under the bike. This also lifts the bike close to 17" off the ground, which will make it easier to change fluids and/or work on the bike.
Did I mention it was sturdy?? There was no swaying or flesing of the supports or support beams; this thing is rock solid.
Finally, you can't complain about the price on this one; it costs less than half of the two leading lifts they have on the market,
but as far as I'm concerned, this works perfectly for my bagger - a 2015 Road Glide Special. I'm very satisfied with this item!!
I know it's double the price of other jacks on here, and I was going the $100.00 route as well until I thought. You get what you pay for, and I paid a good amount for my bike and the mods. I wouldn't want it to drop while I was working nor would I want to replace the jack with in a year.
The lift is fairly low and easily fit under my VTX even while it is on the kickstand. I believe it states the ground clearance in the listing but it is low. Releasing the lift is as easy as placing your foot on the release pedal and punching down. This bike is slowly lowered to the ground and then gently lean it on the kickstand.
The lift is very easy to move around and is very well made. This is an excellent buy and works very well.
I purchased the Torino TR6300 Creeper Seat with this and it makes it easy to sit and clean or work on the bike.
Enjoy this lift and look into the Torino Creeper. It is a good price for a great creeper.
Be safe.
The second unit that amazon sent was nearly perfect..
Thankfully amazon handled the return like the champions that they are.
First one cost me $70.00 , bought it through a tool liquidator , It was junk right out of the package...
The OTC Lift is built like a tank... Low enough to get under any bike...
Safety lock mechanism , robust construction and cylinder...
Letting the unit down can be tricky , I have a hard time feathering the release...
It works fine , Just seems to me that the bike comes down FAST...
Overall , I am extremely pleased with the purchase , and would recommend to a friend or colleague...
To respond to a couple negative reviews about the assembly, I'd have to say that if you had trouble putting this thing together, you probably should not be working on your own bike. It was literally like 5 pieces and they could only fit in very specific places by some bolts. Took less than 10 minutes to assemble.
Now be careful with the straps though! The straps anchor to the base of the jack, so if you strap down the bike tightly and later decide to lift the bike some more, you will be putting a ton of force on those straps and could break them or something on your motorcycle.
